Following an invitation to talk to the breakfast Rotary Club in Leamington, Peter Wrigley was asked to be the after dinner speaker at the August meeting of the Arbury Rotary Club. The talk about the work of the charity was well received and a number of personal donations from members were given to the charities work. A donation form the club itself was also received. The charity has a good relationship with the club and an open invitation to share more of our work with them in the future. below: some of the many blankets shipped to Africa | January 2010 Peter was invited to talk about the work of the charity to the ladies of the Arbury Inner Wheel. At the end of the talk he was presented with a cheque for £150 by Joan. The money was raised by the ladies at a Christmas meal Above, more of the knitted items for Zimbabwean orphans and other vulnerable children from the ladies of the Inner Wheel
| The Inner Wheel Club of Arbury regularly produce knitted blankets which are then presented to AId2Africa by the overseas service organiser for the club. They have been producing blankets for many years but following the talk to Rotary in 2008 they decided to offer the blankets to Aid2Africa. Blankets have been sent to Zimbabwe and to Kenya.
Africa is much cooler than we expect at certain times of the year. Blankets provide much needed warmth for the children. | ||
